Holy Cow guys… I had the most amazing session the other night. A little back story to this session. I was scrolling through Facebook one day, and I came across this video on the Komo page (i believe) and it was about these PNW Mermaids… Needless to say it peaked my interest so I watching the whole video, and thought how amazing it would be to photograph one of them.
So I went to the girls page, and emailed her and asked her if she wanted to get some professional photos taken. To my surprise, she was totally on board. I was a little worried, just because she had never met me, and i didn’t want her to think I was some crazy person emailing her. But I followed my gut and it paid off in a big way!
My good friend Shami came to help me last minute and I am so glad she did. We all had so many laughs and it was fun to have all the people migrate towards us and watch her in action. She was even willing to get in the water! THE FREEZING WASHINGTON WATER. She was committed, and a great sport.
It was pretty cloudy but by the time she got her fin on, the clouds parted and made for a beautiful sunset. Discovery Park was the perfect backdrop for this session. This session made me realize not to be afraid if I have a vision in mind. The worst someone can say is no, and I would be in the same position I was in to start. I love exploring new opportunities and meeting new people. I think thats one of the best parts about photography. Everyones session is unique and different in their own way.
Mermaid Brianna is a professional mermaid. You can hire her for parties, events, pretty much anything that has some water provided. From the little time that I got to get to know her, I can say that she is an incredibly sweet girl and I hope to use her in the future for my daughters birthday party! I think I would score mom of the year points with that one!
Thank you so much Brianna for being such a good sport. It was a first for both of us, and it couldn't have gone better!!! xo
